The association between British colonial control and salt developed after Gandhi led a resistance to British taxes on salt. Religion and Human Rights

This week, I saw an SUV with a surprising mix of bumper stickers. One sticker said “Bishop Watterson Lacrosse.” Another sticker was a Human Rights Campaign equality sign. What makes this combination of stickers surprising is that last month Bishop Watterson High School made the news by firing a popular teacher named Carla Hale after an anonymous tip about Hale. I try to understand a given situation. What is truly NEEDED to make the situation better? What do the people involved REALLY need? What sorts of actions support and move us toward that outcome? I try to avoid doing things to cover my butt or make me look better. Ethics means addressing the situation, not just surviving a situation. -Joy » Read more
