As promised, we have more details for the Winter Solstice Banquet! Jamila Bey will be our guest speaker at the 2011 Winter Solstice Banquet. She’ll be speaking on the topic “Holidays for Heathens”. Humanists need to replace things that are lost when we no longer believe in the supernatural or in God. Save a Life Petition to Repeal the FDA's MSM Blood Ban

During AIDS/HIV scare of the early 1980’s, men that engaged in sexual activity with other men were banned by the FDA from donating blood or organs for life. Still in place over 20 years later, the ban not only affects men who have had sexual contact with other men, but any women who have had contact with this class of men. Modern HIV testing means this precaution is no longer neccesary and needlessly prevents potential donors from helping others and saving lives.  » Read more
