HCCO Annual Summer Picnic 2012
Date: Sunday, August 12, 2012 Time: 5pm-9pm
Location: Shagbark Shelter inside Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park (see map below).
Directions: Battelle Darby Creek is located on the southwest corner of Columbus. From I-270, take the West Broad Street (U.S. 40) exit west. Go about 5 miles on Broad Street and turn left on Darby Creek Drive. Main entrance is about 3 miles on the right. Come in the main entrance and we’ll be in the Shagbark area, at the end of the road and just to your left.

Who Should Come: Everyone! We have a shelter reserved and plenty of covered tables, so let’s get together with all of our friends! Feel free to bring family & friends as well! This is the perfect opportunity to meet others, make new friends, and get to know others at a fun and laid back summer picnic!
We provide: beverages, ice, condiments, cooking tools, coals, hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, & buns.
What You Should Bring:·
- A dish to share: Last name beginning with A-L bring an appetizer, M-Z a dessert.
- · Your own reusable place setting
- · Any outdoor games or table games to share.
Who do we RSVP to? RSVP the number of people in attending by August 8 to picnic@hcco.org.
Activities: The Shagbark Shelter boasts covered picnic tables for 100+, a giant grill, a large serving counter, restrooms and is adjacent to several hiking trails. We’ll enjoy a delicious pot luck picnic with food, fun, conversation, games, and a great afternoon/evening with friends new and old.
Kids Activities:Special Kids' activities by Camp Quest (www.camp-quest.com)
Volunteering:We’ll need some help with this party. We’ll need assistance with the following:Setup, Tear down, and an official grill cook
Cost: Nothing, but this would be a good time to renew your membership or become a member. We’ll be collecting membership dues . Bring check or cash. Membership dues help HCCO pay for events like the Annual Summer picnic and general operating costs. If you’d rather join online, click here.
Pets: They are permitted in the Shagbark area as well as the Wagtail Trail as long as they are on a leash no longer then 6 ft. Dogs are also permitted on the roadways.
Carpooling: Do you need a ride or have room to spare? If you're in the Columbus area, please mention this in your RSVP!
